Swisstech 2008: Successful meeting place for the subcontracting industries
After four highly successful days, the doors closed at Swisstech on 21 November. A total of 629 exhibitors from 14 countries expressed their satisfaction with the subcontracting fair for mechanical-technical components and system solutions made of metal and plastic. Despite the uncertainty surrounding the economy, this year Swisstech exceeded all expectations. The visitors to the exhibition from Switzerland and its neighbouring countries numbered 23,478. There was great interest in Baden-Württemberg day and in the Swiss Skills Championships for young polymechanics, which held its awards ceremony on the final day of the exhibition. The next Swisstech will take place from 16 to 19 November 2010 in Basel.

Swisstech 2008: The subcontracting industry meets in Basel

The doors will open at Swisstech on Tuesday 18 November 2008. From then until Friday 21, a total of 629 exhibitors from 14 countries will be putting on display mechanical-technical components and system solutions made of metal and plastic. Accompanying events, such as the Swiss Skills Championships for young polymechanics and Baden-Württemberg day, provide the perfect complement to this exhibition for the European subcontracting industry. In addition, the new area called "THE system assemblers" puts the focus on specialist end product manufacturers for the first time.

Firing up the Champions – “Brandhärd” at Swisstech 2008
During Swisstech young polytechnicians in the disciplines of automation, CNC-turning and CNC-milling will compete for the title of Swiss Champion. For the winner and runner-up in each discipline, participation in the World Skills Competition 2009 in Calgary (Canada) beckons. The champion will be chosen on the last day of the fair. The awards ceremony will be rounded off by the appearance of the Basle-based dialect rap group “Brandhärd”. The Swisstech supply fair takes place in Basle from the 18 to the 21 November 2008.

Swisstech 2008: Baden-Württemberg day podium discussion with top players
Of all the German states, Baden-Württemberg is one of Switzerland’s most important suppliers as well as one of the most significant customers. Over 30 per cent of Swiss imports originate from Germany, while more than a quarter of all Swiss exports go there. The podium discussion focusing on this on the first day of the exhibition underlines the good economic relationship between Baden-Württemberg and Switzerland. The Swisstech exhibition for the subcontracting industry takes place from 18 to 21 November 2008 at the Exhibition Center Basel.

Swisstech, Europe’s Central Fair for the Subcontracting Industries, is offering a new service: the “Swisstech24” directory of exhibitors and products. From September 2008, exhibitors, visitors and the specialist media can benefit from this online platform and get the most out of their participation in or visit to the fair.

Swisstech 2008: interesting for foreign companies – a “must” for Swiss companies
With seven months still to go until Swisstech 2008, over 400 companies have registered for this exhibition. This means that two-thirds of the exhibition area is already occupied. This year joint stands involving foreign companies will contribute to the diversity of Swisstech and underline the level of interest among foreign exhibitors in this exhibition for the subcontracting industry. The exhibition’s organisers are confident of staging a high-quality event.

Swisstech 2008: Unternehmergeist und Begeisterung der Italiener
Starke Präsenz von Unternehmen aus der Lombardei.

Die 14. Swisstech, die wichtigste Fachmesse für die Zulieferindustrie im deutschsprachigen Raum, findet im November dieses Jahres wieder in Basel statt. Aus Italien haben bereits ca. 50 Klein- und Mittelunternehmen aus allen Bereichen der Zulieferindustrie ihre Teilnahme in Basel bestätigt.
